Today is world Physiotherapy Day 8th September 2022. this day is celebrated as world Physiotherapy Day. World Physiotherapy Day was founded in 1951, This is the day that represents more than 625000 physiotherapists worldwide through its 121 member organisations. The operating name of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy is World Physiotherapy (WCPT).
Mission Of World Physiotherapy:
The mission of World Physiotherapy is to advance physiotherapy so that its critical contribution to bettering health and welfare is acknowledged on a worldwide scale.
The goal of World Physiotherapy, the leading voice for physical therapy worldwide, is to promote high standards of physical therapy practice, education, and research; unify the profession globally; represent physical therapy and physical therapists globally; make it easier for member organisations, regions, and subgroups to share information; and work with national and international organisations to advance global health.
History Of World Physiotherapy:
Founded in 1951 by 11 national physiotherapy organisations from countries including Sweden, West Germany, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Great Britain, New Zealand, and the United States of America.
1953 saw the holding of the second general meeting and first international congress in London, where the first executive committee was chosen.
To help the profession thrive, World Physiotherapy has created declarations, such as Education Guidelines. With 14 of these separate international organisations of physiotherapists with particular interests now recognised as subgroups of World Physiotherapy, it has built a structure of five regions and tight links with them.
