BRAHMI GHRIT- BENEFITS OF BRAHMI GHRIT

Brahmi Ghrita is a ghee-based herbal Ayurvedic formula used to manage problems associated with the central nervous system. It has ghee in its base which acts as a beneficial agent in the medicine, providing good absorption and better delivery to the organs due to its lipophilic nature.

Brahmi Ghrita has neurocognitive effects which may help with conditions like epilepsy. It also has a positive effect on poor memory.



According to Ayurveda, Brahmi Ghrita has a Vata balancing property which may help in reducing the symptoms of anxiety. It also helps balance all three doshas and reduces the episodes of the seizure (epilepsy). Brahmi Ghrita also has Medhya (intelligence-improving) and Rasayana (rejuvenating) properties which may aid in improving memory power. Brahmi Ghrita is available in semi-solid form as it has cow ghee in its base. You can take 2-3gm Brahmi Ghrita or as directed by the doctor to manage the symptoms of anxiety. Drink 1-2 glasses of lukewarm water after taking it for better digestion. Take it once or twice a day, preferably after meals. Avoid self-medication or taking Brahmi Ghrita in excess.

Brahmi Ghrita is generally well tolerated and does not have any side effects when taken in the recommended dose. However, it is advisable to consult the doctor before using Brahmi Ghrita.

1. Epilepsy - Brahmi Ghrita helps manage the symptoms of epilepsy. In Ayurveda, epilepsy is termed Apasmara. Epileptic patients experience episodes of seizures. A seizure is due to abnormal electrical activity in the brain leading to uncontrollable and rapid body movements. Epilepsy involves all three doshas, Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Brahmi Ghrita helps to balance all three doshas and reduces the episodes of seizures. Brahmi also helps to maintain healthy brain function because of Medhya (improve intelligence) property.



2. Poor Memory- Everyone According to Ayurveda, poor memory is caused due to inactivity of Kapha or aggravation of Vata dosha. Small doses of Brahmi Ghrita when taken for the prescribed duration can help boost memory power because of its Medhya (intelligence-improving) and Rasayana (rejuvenating) properties.

3. Stress or anxiety- Anxiety refers to a feeling of stress, worry, or nervousness as a response to difficult and stressful situations. However, when the feelings of anxiety interfere with a person’s day-to-day life, such a condition can lead to anxiety disorder. According to Ayurveda, Vata governs all the movements and actions of the body and nervous system respectively. Anxiety is mainly due to Vata imbalance. Brahmi Ghrita helps to reduce the symptoms of anxiety due to its Vata balancing and Medhya (improves intelligence) properties.

4. General Weakness- General weakness is a feeling of body fatigue or tiredness. You may feel a lack of energy. This usually happens when the body is deprived of a continuous flow of energy. Brahmi Ghrita is useful in managing general weakness or fatigue in day-to-day life. According to Ayurveda, fatigue is also known as klama. It is caused due to an imbalance of Kapha dosha and deficiency of essential minerals in the body. Brahmi Ghrita has Balya (strength provider) property which helps to reduce the symptoms of fatigue. It also fulfills the requirement of important essential minerals, especially iron which helps in gaining overall strength.
